  • Jon Venetos
    Founder & CEO

    Jon founded Lurin Capital in 2016 and serves as CEO and General Partner of Lurin Capital & Lurin Multi-Family Group.  Previously, Jon was Senior Managing Director and Head of Surveyor Capital Ltd at Citadel LLC.  Surveyor Capital is a global equity, long/short multi-manager strategy.  From 2009 to 2016, Jon was a member of Citadel’s Investment Committee.

    Prior to joining Citadel in 2006, Jon was the Deputy Head of the Absolute Return Strategies Group and Senior Portfolio Manager for the Topiary Select portfolios at Deutsche Bank.  Jon was also a Director at Thomas H. Lee Capital, LLC, the leverage buyout investor’s family office.  Jon served in various portfolio management and analyst roles at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers Alternative Strategies.

    In addition, Jon has been involved in his family’s Residential Real Estate business for the past twenty years with varying responsibilities from an assistant to the CEO to financial advisor to the CEO.  Jon’s family has been redeveloping and developing multi-family residential real estate in the Chicagoland Area, Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin for over 40 years.  The platform is fully integrated from acquisition to disposition and renovation to day-to-day property management.  The family’s real estate portfolio currently consists of over 1,750 units.

    Jon holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Boston University.  He also sits on the Board of Free Arts NYC and the Real Estate Advisory Board of Project Renewal.

  • Ben Jones
    Partner & Managing Director

    Ben is Head of Capital Markets at Lurin Capital where his responsibilities include capital structuring and establishing and maintaining capital partnerships. Prior to Lurin, Ben advised Eureka Holdings, Inc., a private equity owner/operator of 10,000+ units of multi-family real estate located primarily in the state of Texas, on all aspects of capital formation and deal structuring. He was also responsible for capital budgeting, establishing operating budgets, asset management, and was a member of the Investment Committee.  Ben raised more than $500mm across 8,000 multi-family units in the past three years and also structured various types of corporate and mezzanine debt.

    Prior to Eureka, Ben was Managing Director and Partner at Red River Multifamily, a boutique multi-family private equity fund focused on market rate and student housing multi-family properties.  Prior to Red River, Ben held various underwriting and production positions at Deutsche Bank, Nomura Securities, and Berkshire Mortgage Finance, specializing in multi-family lending covering the national apartment market.  Ben received an MBA with distinctions from the Yale School of Management and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Washington and Lee University.

    Jordan is Head of Acquisitions and Asset Management at Lurin Capital where he is responsible for underwriting all new deals, conducting due diligence, overseeing the management of firm’s assets and spearheading the disposition process. Prior to joining Lurin, Jordan sourced acquisition opportunities at Eureka Holdings, Inc., a private equity owner/operator of 10,000+ units of multi-family real estate located primarily in the state of Texas, where he acquired more than 5,600 units, achieving an average IRR exceeding 35%.  During his time at Eureka Holdings, Jordan was involved in all aspects of acquisitions, dispositions, lender relations, investor correspondence, fundraising and asset management.  Prior to joining Eureka Holdings, Jordan acted as acquisitions analyst for Silver Oak Multifamily Capital.  Jordan graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Southern Methodist University.

  • David Dix
    Partner & Acquisitions Associate

    David is an Acquisitions Associate at Lurin Capital where his responsibilities include acquisitions underwriting, capital structuring, due diligence and dispositions management.  Prior to joining Lurin, David served as Vice President of Capital Markets for the Wooldridge Group, a private financial services group specializing in credit trading opportunities.  David oversaw sales and institutional trading for hedge funds and high net worth clients providing trade ideas in the credit sector.  Prior to Woolridge, David served as a multi-family acquisitions analyst at United Dominion Realty Trust (UDR, Inc). David graduated with a business finance degree from The University of Oklahoma.  He currently holds his Series 7 and Series 63 licenses.

  • Samuel Condurso
    Acquisitions Analyst

    Sammy is an Acquisitions Analyst at Lurin Capital where his responsibilities include acquisitions underwriting, due diligence, asset management and debt structuring.  Prior to joining Lurin, Sammy was the Acquisitions and Capital Markets Analyst at Eureka Holdings, Inc., a private equity owner/operator of 10,000+ units of multi-family real estate located primarily in the state of Texas.  Sammy was responsible for acquisition underwriting, asset management, and transaction closings.  Sammy structured $175 million of multi-family agency and bridge refinances, and closed over 3,000 units of multi-family acquisitions. Sammy also worked with various capital sources to close more than 50 parcels of land as part of an ongoing assemblage and redevelopment strategy.  Sammy graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from The University of Texas at Austin.

  • Victor Escobedo
    Capital Markets Analyst

    In his role as a Capital Markets Analyst, Vic will support the team in the origination and execution of all capital market transactions.  He will also assist in developing new client relationships, including assisting in the preparation of financial models, deal related marketing materials and other analytics to support new business generation.  Prior to joining Lurin, Vic served as the Senior Accountant at Icon Urban Group, a boutique multi-family management and investment firm.  Vic oversaw the accounting team, as well as on-site operations for the company’s entire portfolio.  Prior to Icon Urban Group, Vic served as a property accountant at Roscoe Properties, overseeing a portfolio of 20 properties.  Vic was a double major graduate from The University of Texas at San Antonio receiving a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and International Business.

  • Monica Khalid
    Head of Investor Relations

    Monica is Head of Investor Relations at Lurin Capital where she is responsible for the firm’s marketing, capital raising and investor relations activities.  Prior to joining Lurin, Monica was Vice President at Sentinel Real Estate, a privately-held real estate investment manager focused on multi-family assets located throughout the United States.  At Sentinel, Monica was responsible for raising capital from U.S. institutional clients for the firm’s various investment products.  From 2010 to 2013, Monica was Director of Global Marketing & Client Services at PGIM Real Estate (previously known as Prudential Real Estate Investors) working on the design, development and implementation of investment products and strategic initiatives for the firm.  Between 2003 and 2009, she worked at DRA Advisors in various aspects of client relations, marketing and portfolio management.   She has also held positions at SSR Realty Advisors and Chelsea Property Group.   Monica graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Science and received her Master’s in Real Estate from New York University.

  • John Ursino
    President of Lurin Property Management

    John is President of Lurin Property Management.  His responsibilities include oversight of all property operations, including but not limited to, involvement in new acquisitions, due diligence, input in asset management decisions, market evaluations, and asset management functions with special emphasis on-site performance.  Prior to joining Lurin, John served as President for a local Fort Worth, Texas firm, a private equity owner/operator of 4,500+ multi-family units located primarily in the state of Texas.  During his tenure, John was responsible for overseeing an executive staff charged with the day-to-day operations of 28 communities located across multiple states.

    Prior to that, John served as Vice President of Operations for Invitation Homes, a division of Blackstone, a privately-held Real Estate Investment Company with 50,000 units across 14 states.  His responsibilities included the oversight of all aspects of management and operations, totaling 8,000 units across four states.

    John brings 24 years of multifamily real estate experience and holds a Real Property Administration (RPA) Designation from the Building and Owners Management Institute (BOMI).  John has a Bachelors degree in Business from Seattle University.

  • Desiree Oujesky
    Chief Financial Officer

    Desiree is Chief Financial Officer at Lurin Capital.  She has over 30 years of accounting and financial operations experience and holds a current CPA license in Texas and Michigan.  Desiree is responsible for overseeing the accounting and reporting for Lurin Capital and all of its subsidiaries.

    Prior to Lurin, Desiree worked as a CFO for a start-up multifamily acquisitions / management company, South Oxford Management.  Prior to joining South Oxford, Desiree worked for 10 years at US Residential Group in Plano Texas, the last two years of which she served as Chief Financial Officer. Her responsibilities included financial analysis,  internal and external regulatory reporting, cash management, G/L A/P, A/R, tax reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal and external auditing for 180 business entities, and an 8.4MM annual operating budget.

  • Mary Harriel
    Head of Human Resources

    Mary has 25 years of experience as a Human Resources professional, of which nine were in the field of property management.  Prior to joining Lurin, Mary was a Divisional Director of HR for the Single-Family Homes Division of Blackstone (Invitation Homes). Throughout the launch of the firm, she played a key role in ensuring the successful development of the HR team. In addition, she structured and implemented programs and policies in the areas of training, benefits, performance management, incentives and on-boarding.  She supported management and staff with HR needs in four state regional offices encompassing over 2,000 staff members. She strategically advised divisional leaders of each market on employee relations, training, compensation, and recruitment, and provided advice, training, counseling, and support to field offices. Lastly, she implemented and monitored compliance with HR policies.

  • Deanna Smith
    Senior Staff Accountant

    Deanna is the Senior Accountant at Lurin Property Management.  She has 15 years of accounting and financial operations experience, and an MBA from Texas Women’s University.  Prior to Lurin, Deanna worked as a Senior Accountant for two multi-family property management companies with duties including preparing monthly close-out packages, account reconciliations, creating journal entries, variance reporting, tracking fixed assets, and depreciation schedules.

  • Rick Shackelford
    Accountants Payable Specialist

    Rick is the Accounts Payable Specialist at Lurin Property Management.  He came to Lurin with almost 35 years of A/P experience in the Hospitality and Property Management industries.  He is responsible for vendor maintenance, review of all property batches, attaching images in Onesite, and printing/mailing checks. He assists with special projects when needed.

    Before coming to Lurin, Rick worked for  South Oxford Management as both Senor A/P Specialist and A/P Manager. Prior to South Oxford, Rick worked for four years with Riverstone Property Management and later Greystar when they purchased Riverstone.

  • Pat Stovall
    Senior Asset Manager

    Pat is a Senior Asset Manager at Lurin Property Management.  Her responsibilities include involvement in new acquisitions, due diligence, input in asset management decisions, preparation of construction draws, market evaluations, and asset management functions with special emphasis on-site performance.  Prior to joining Lurin, Pat served as Regional Property Supervisor for Eureka Multifamily Group, a private equity owner/operator of 10,000+ multi-family units located primarily in the state of Texas.  During her tenure, Pat was responsible for the day-to-day operation of ten communities located across multiple states.

    Prior to joining Eureka, Pat served as Regional Property Manager for Flournoy Properties, a privately-held Real Estate Investment Company with 38 communities across seven states.  Her responsibilities included the oversight of all aspects of management and personnel at thirteen A+ communities, totaling 4,400 units across three states.  Prior to joining Flournoy, Pat served as Regional Property Manager for 20 years with AIMCO, a privately-traded Real Estate Investment Trust with properties in 46 states and revenues of $1.7 billion.   Pat has 20+ years of real estate experience in managing multi-family communities and holds a Certified Property Manager (CPM) Designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM).

  • Edith Gaona
    Senior Asset Manager

    Edith is a Senior Asset Manager at Lurin Property Management.  Her responsibilities include involvement in new acquisitions, due diligence, input in asset management decisions, preparation of construction draws, market evaluations, and asset management functions with special emphasis on-site performance.

    Prior to joining Lurin, Edith served as Property Manager for Eureka Multifamily Group, a private equity owner/operator of 10,000+ multi-family units located primarily in the state of Texas.  During her 12 years at Eureka, Edith managed five apartment communities.

  • Gregory Kaufmann
    Regional Asset Manager

    Greg brings 1o years of experience in multi-unit management. Prior to Lurin, Greg served as Regional Manager for RHP Properties, a real estate investment firm specializing in the acquisition and management of manufactured home communities. During his tenure, Greg managed a portfolio of 14 manufactured home communities totaling 4,500 units on the East Coast. Prior to RHP Properties, Greg worked in Europe where he  charged with the operations of 2,900 apartment rental units and 8 hotel properties in Bulgaria, Romania, and Turkey. Prior to property management, Greg worked in the luxury aviation industry serving as Director of Owner Relations at CitationShares, a private jet company specializing in fractional jet ownership. Greg is licensed as a real estate agent (NY) and a commercial pilot.

  • Kelly Jackson
    Regional Asset Manager

    Kelly brings more than 15 years of multifamily experience.  Prior to Lurin, Kelly was the Vice President of Property Management for Bonner Carrington, where she was responsible for 19 communities located throughout Texas, including 9 lease ups.  Prior to Bonner Carrington, Kelly was a Regional Manager for Morgan Management, where she was responsible for multiple regions throughout her career.

    Kelly’s career has consisted of new construction, rehabs, distressed and Class A luxury properties.  Kelly brings extensive experience in operations and asset management with expertise in conventionally financed properties, lease ups and value-added property renovations.  Kelly has been highly successful in building exceptional teams in a positive work environment which led to improving productivity and profitability for each community.

  • David Malone
    President of Lurin Construction Management

    David is President of Construction at Lurin Construction Management where his responsibilities include developing and managing construction budgets for the successful repositioning of new acquisitions, determining annual asset preservation needs and capital budgets for existing assets, performing disposition inspections of assets, and settling property damage claims.

    Prior to joining Lurin, David served as the Director of Construction at BH Management Services, a private equity owner/operator of 65,000+ multi-family units located across the United States.  At BH, he was responsible for a team of 28 employees managing over 75 projects annually totaling over $200mm primarily focused on the repositioning of class B assets.  In addition to managing a team of project managers, he was responsible for the general direction of the construction department and developing procedures to efficiently produce on time and on budget projects.

    Prior to BH, David was Director of Operations and Director of Construction at United Renovations, a nationwide general contractor focused on multi-family rehab projects including all aspects exterior repairs, extensive interior upgrades and common area remodels throughout the United States.  David has been involved in the construction industry for the past 25+ years with a broad range of experience including overseeing the redevelopment of over 40,000 units.

  • Chad Combs
    Project Manager

    Chad is Project Manager at Lurin Construction Management where his responsibilities include scope development, leading the design team for common area improvements to achieve the owner’s vision, and managing all aspects of the construction plan from budgeting to close out for each property.  Prior to joining Lurin, Chad served as the Senior Due Diligence Manager AVP for Berkshire Property Advisors where he managed the capital due diligence process in the Western United States for all multi-family assets, underwriting capital plans for garden, mid-rise and high-rise properties.  During this time, he also served as a Senior Project Manager and managed capital redevelopment projects within this region.  Chad formerly served as the Director of Construction for Statewide Acquisitions managing the conversion of apartments into condominiums and TriVest Residential where he managed the interior redevelopment for all TriVest multi-family properties.  Chad has been involved in the construction industry for the past 20+ years with a broad range of experience including managing the redevelopment of 5,000+ units.

  • John Schenk
    Project Manager

    John is Project Manager at Lurin Construction Management where his responsibilities include scope development, leading the design team for common area improvements to achieve the owner’s vision, & managing all aspects of the construction plan from budgeting to close out for each property. Prior to Lurin, John served as Project Manager at BH Management Services, a private equity owner/operator of 65,000+ multifamily units located across the US.   Prior to BH, John served as Draftsman & Project Manager at Danco Industrial, a contractor specializing in construction and maintenance of manufacturing plants, processing plants, and power plants, as well as was contracts with military installations.  At Danco John was responsible for developing and executing fabrication drawings ranging from structural steel assemblies to processing pipe headers, and organizing and installing manufactured assemblies per specifications.  John received his Associates in Drafting and Design Technologies from Wallace Community College, and has been involved in construction of multiple facets for over 10 years.

  • Rhys Ibarra
    Project Manager

    Rhys is Project Manager at Lurin Construction Management where his responsibilities include scope development, leading the design team for common area improvements to achieve the owner’s vision, & managing all aspects of the construction plan from budgeting to close out for each property. Prior to Lurin, Rhys served as a project manager for Centex Construction where he would work on multiple projects in order to provide a smooth and cost-effective operation for the customer as well as the company.  Prior to Centex, Rhys worked at Gambit Construction as a Project Manager where the responsibilities included developing and managing construction budgets, in order to provide a profitable and smooth operation for both company and customer. During his time at these companies his most notable accomplishments came from the overseeing of stressed, over budget, and behind schedule jobs where he would find creative ways to increase productivity, and profit while bringing the job back to speed to complete in a reasonable time.

    Christy is the Project Coordinator for Lurin Construction Management. Her responsibilities include accounts payable, accounts receivable, maintaining the integrity of contracts including lien waivers, change orders, and close out documents, vendor compliance, and lender draws.   Prior to joining the Lurin Construction Management team, Christy worked as a Project Coordinator for BH Management Services, a private equity owner/operator of 65,000+ multi-family units located across the United States.   Her region included 5 project managers and over 20 projects at any given time ensuring each project was within budget and all contracts, change orders, lien waivers, and reporting were current and accurate.
